 EQUINE  Services

 

   Alamo Area Veterinary Clinic serves as an equine referral facility for South Texas.  We have a full equine surgery suite where a wide range of surgeries are performed ranging from critical neonatal surgeries to sport horse arthroscopic surgery.  

 

   We see a wide range of lameness issues in horses and offer a variety of treatment options for these horses.  We offer primary care, herd health services, emergency after hours service and farm call services.  During the breeding season we will breed between 120 to 150 mares to both cooled fresh and frozen semen. 

 

   We have the latest in equipment including

digital X-ray for diagnosing orthopedic

problems, videoendoscopy for upper airway

and stomach exploration and ultrasound for

orthopedic and reproductive applications.

 

 

  We have 14 enclosed hospital

stalls for our sick and surgical patients 

including an air-conditioned stall and an

isolation stall for critical patients. In

addition there are 22 outdoor roofed pens

for less critical patients and broodmares.

 

 

   Alamo Area Veterinary Clinic offers 24 hour care with two technicians

who live on the premises to care for critical patients.  The veterinarians and staff at Alamo Area Veterinary Clinic are dedicated to the care and welfare of your horse.
